The swearing in ceremony of Lieutenant Governors(LG) of newly created Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh is set to take place on October 31.
The two UTs are being carved out of the State of Jammu and Kashmir as per the August 5th decision by the Parliament. On the same day, Parliament also decided to abrogate Article 370 of the Constitution which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir state.
Radha Krishna Mathur would assume responsibility as Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Ladakh.
Mathur has arrived in Leh along with Gita Mittal the Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court.
