29th ACI World Annual General Assembly Held in Hong Kong

29th ACI World Annual General Assembly

The 29th Airports Council International (ACI) World Annual General Assembly (WAGA) held on 4 April in Hong Kong, China unanimously expressed its support and commitment to ensuring the accessibility of their facilities for passengers with disabilities.

The Resolution recognizes the increased efforts airports are making and encourages practitioners to draw from the ACI Airports and Persons with Disabilities Handbook (2018). The recommendations in this Handbook are intended to help airports effectively assist persons with disabilities when designing and renovating facilities.

“Ensuring that airports are accessible to use for all passengers is an objective for all operators,” said ACI World Director General, Angela Gittens. “We recognize the commitment of airports to continuously strive for excellence in the customer experience and that includes accessibility for passengers with disabilities, both visible and not visible. ACI will continue to promote the interests of passengers with disabilities and highlight airports’ efforts to address them.”

The 29th ACI Asia-Pacific/World Annual General Assembly, Congress & Exhibition held in Hong Kong, China, 2 to 4 April, hosted by Hong Kong International Airport, attracted more than 850 delegates from around the world
