Heavy rains lash Odisha

Heavy rain lashed parts of Odisha, resulting in a flood-like situation in some areas. Special Relief Commissioner BP Sethi confirmed that torrential rains submerged regions in Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Kandhamal and Gajapati districts in south Odisha.

As per reports three wagons of a goods train derailed at Ambadola station and following which several trains have been cancelled or diverted due to water logging on tracks.

Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has identified a deep depression over northwest Bay of Bengal and issued an advisory to fishermen not to venture into the seas for the next 48 hours.

Heavy rain is expected in several areas of the state in the coming two days.
