Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) has advised its affiliated schools to establish ‘YUVA Tourism Clubs’ and to organize various activities to promote tourism under ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ (EBSB) programme based on the guidelines formulated by the Ministry of Tourism.

This information was divulged by Minister of State(MoS) for Education, Smt. Annapurna Devi in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.

The CBSE had given these directions to its affiliates through a circular issued on May 11, 2022.

Devi also listed the benefits that students would derive from the YUVA Tourism Clubs:

1. These would spread awareness about tourism opportunities at an early stage and encourage students to be skilled professionals and entrepreneurs in the hospitality and tourism sector.

2. These would educate them regarding the rich natural and cultural travel heritage present in our villages, towns, cities, and states.

3. These would sensitize them to various elements of travel; encourage, teach and propagate responsible tourism practices;
improve physical & mental health through exploratory, adventure and sports tourism.

4. These would enable them to appreciate the importance of travel and tourism; and
ignite in them a passion for tourism and its values.
