Komalika Bari is recurve cadet world champion

Komalika Bari of India became the recurve cadet world champion at the World Archery Youth Championships that were held in Madrid, Spain. Bari, who hails from Jharkhand overcame higher-ranked Sonoda Waka of Japan 7-3 in the final to earn India’s second gold in the  Championships. Besides the gold won by Bari India won a gold in the compound junior mixed pair event on August 24 and a bronze in the compound junior men’s team event on August 23. 

Hence India’s medal tally stood at two gold and one bronze medal in the championship. Komalika, 17-year-old Komalika is India’s second recurve cadet  world champion in the under-18 category, the first was Deepika Kumari who won the title in 2009.
