British Prime Minister Theresa May has announced her decision to resign from office on June 7, 2019 the same day she would be resigning from the leadership of of the Conservative Party as well. Conservative party is scheduled to elect its new leadership the following week. May had assumed leadership of Britain during the period that followed the Brexit vote of 2016, the Brexit conundrum could get intensified due to May’s departure as her successor could bargain for a more decisive split setting Britain on a path of confrontation with European Union. All of May’s successors wish to drive a tougher bargain with the EU on it’s separation deal. The European Union on its part has made it clear that it would not renegotiate the withdrawal Treaty that was filled on November.
