Army Chief Gen Bipin Rawat has said that army is working on a priority basis to upgrade the border infrastructure of Uttarakhand, particularly its China border. Army chief assured all support from the force for development of border infrastructure in Uttarakhand, he was a addressing an event ‘Raibaar- 2019’ at Tehri. General Rawat said that the army is working hastily to develop border infrastructure especially airfields. Responding to queries of reporters regarding the border with Pakistan he said that every measure is being taken to counter provocations from Pakistan and they are being given fitting replies. ‘Raibaar- 2019’ was organised as part of Uttarakhand’s week-long celebrations to to observe the state’s foundation day which falls on November 9. This would be the 19th Foundation Day of Uttarakhand as it was created along with Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh on November 9, 2000
