5.5 Magnitude Earthquake in Arunachal Pradesh and Assam

A moderate earthquake measuring 5.5 magnitude in the Richter Scale jolted Arunachal Pradesh and neighboring Assam at around 4.24 am today. Indian Meteorological Department has identified the depth of 10 KM in East Kameng district (Arunachal Pradesh) as the epicenter of the quake.

In total Arunachal Pradesh has been jolted by 4 moderate earthquakes in the last 24 hours three of these had epicenters in East Kameng District. The earthquakes measured 5.6, 3.8 and 4.9 in the Richter Scale. There is no report of loss of life and property due to the earthquakes as of now.
