Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Commences on June 8

The schedule for the eagerly awaited Kailash Mansarovar Yatra has been announced. The annual pilgrimage which is organised by the Ministry of External Affairs will take place between June 8 and September 8, 2019 this year. 

Registration formalities for the pilgrimage commenced on April 16 and will continue till May 9, 2019. Interested applicants are required to possess an Indian passport that is valid for a minimum of six months as on September 1, 2019. 

There are two paths for the Yatra one is from the famous Nathu La(Pass) in Sikkim which is the easier of the two routes as the route is motor able. The other is through the Lipulekh pass of  Uttarakhand the various attractions of this route includes Narayan Ashram, Patal Bhuvaneshwar, the scenic Chialekh Valley, the ‘Om Parvat’ famous for natural occurrence of snow in the shape of ‘Om’ on it.

The Nathula route passes through the enchanting Tibetan plateau including places like Hangu lake.

 The journey would cost approximately INR 1.8 lakh to 2.5 lakh per pilgrim. The pilgrimage will last for 24 days per batch including 3 days in Delhi for a medical and fitness test and preparatory activities.

Online application facility is available for those interested on being part of the Yatra.
