Air India to ban Single use Plastic

The national carrier Air India has decided to heed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s advise regarding the environmental hazards of single use plastics as it would introduce a gradual ban on single use plastics. The first phase will see ban being imposed on single use plastic in Air India Express and Alliance Air flights starting from 2nd of October, 2019.

The second phase would see the ban being extended to all Air India flights. Also the airline would be using eco-friendly birch wood cutlery in place of plastic cutlery for special meals that are ordered in advance.
