Cyclone Bulbul Heading for Bangladesh

Cyclonic storm Bulbul is likely to hit Bangladesh in Saturday or Sunday as warning has been issued at the coastal regions of the country.

Maritime ports of Mongla, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, and Payra have been told to keep local cautionary signal four hoisted so as to ensure that fishermen don’t venture into the sea. A bulletin issued by the Meteorological department says that cyclone Bulbul is currently centred about 820 kms from Chattogram port,  770 km from Mongla, 740 km from Pyra port and 755 km from Cox’s Bazar.

The cyclone may cause gusty and squally wind affecting maritime ports of Bangladesh. The wind speed within 54 kilometres of the cyclone centre was in the range of 62 km per hour to 88 km per hour. The Meteorological department has warned all trawlers and fishing boats over north bay to refrain from venturing into sea till further notice.
