Euromonitor International, a UK based market research company has ranked India’s national capital as the world’s 11th most popular tourist destination. The market research company lists Delhi’s cultural heritage, its connectivity with most of the popular North Indian destinations, improved airport infrastructure and increasing popularity of health and wellness as tourism for Delhi’s rising profile. Euromonitor ranks India as a strong emerging destination which has 7 of its cities in the top hundred most popular tourist destination list. All in all Asia is witnessing fast growth having 43 of its cities in the ‘top 100 City destinations’ list. Improved infrastructure enhanced government interest for developing tourism and digitisation of visa procedure (e-visas)are some of the reasons cited for improved performance of Asian destinations. Hongkong, Bangkok and London are three destinations topping the list.
