Gujarat, which has the country’s longest coastline is planning to to emerge as a premier Cruise tourism destination of India. Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) is studying the potential and feasibility of Cruise tourism in the state the GMB has also been in talks with Cruise tourism companies to come up with the policy for Cruise tourism. As of now Porbandar is the only destination in Gujarat which gets Cruise tourists the Gujarat Maritime Board is exploring possibilities to add two more destinations to the Cruise tourism list. Mukesh Kumar MD of GMB disclosed that Mandvi, Okha and Veraval are under consideration to be developed into Cruise tourism destinations. He explained that these centres are being considered for Cruise tourism as these would, besides developing as Cruise tourism destinations would help in linking various tourist centres such as tourists could visit Gir from Veraval, Mahatma Gandhi’s birth place from Porbandar, they could visit Dwarka from Okha and Mandvi Beach at Mandvi
