Landline Services restored in Kashmir

Landline Services restored in Kashmir

Landline telephone services have been made operational in the entire Jammu and Kashmir state. Internet, mobile phone and landline services were blocked hours before announcement of repeal of article 370 on August 5, 2019.

These services were blocked as a precautionary measure as these communication mediums would have been used by terrorist handlers to mobilize troublemakers and spread separatist propaganda among the people of Kashmir.  Apart from hundred percent landline services mobile phone services were restored in districts of Kupwara and Handwara and government has promised restoration of mobile phone services in the rest of the districts of Kashmir in a phased manner. Restrictions were also eased in 11 more police station areas in addition to 82 out of 105 Police stations in J&K.
