Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana from Ranchi. The scheme aims to secure lives of 5 crore small and marginal farmers by providing a monthly pension. The minimum pension amount stands at Rs 3000 per month, to those who are 60 years and above.
The scheme has an outlay of INR 10, 774 crore for the next three years. Small and marginal farmers who are currently in the age group of 18 – 40 years can apply for the scheme.
More that 1.16 lakh farmers have registered themselves under this scheme in Jharkhand so far. Small and marginal farmers who own land up to two hectares are eligible for to register under this scheme.
The Prime Minister also unveiled a riverine multi model terminal at Sahebganj in Jharkhand, this is only the second riverine multi model terminal in India. Besides this he also inaugurated the Jharkhand Assembly building at at Dhurwa in Ranchi and laid the foundation of Jharkhand Secretariat building.
Mr Modi also launched the Vyapar Swarojgar Pension Scheme for small traders.
