The Embassy of Vietnam in association with OM Tourism organised a Vietnam Tourism Roadshow in New Delhi. The theme for the single day event was event “Vietnam – A Charming destination for Indian tourists.”
HE Pham Sanh Chau the Ambassador of Vietnam to India, Nepal & Bhutan in his address described Vietnam as a country that has now been completely recovered from the ravages of war to emerge as one of the most dynamic economies in the south east Asian region.
He highlighted Vietnam’s Indian connection and said that his country has so much to offer
“Vietnam is home of 8 UNESCO world heritages, well –preserved historic relics and beautiful beaches. Indian travelers can find the affluence of Indian culture in Vietnam through Hindu temples in Ho Chi Minh city or at the My Son sanctuary as well as many Indian restaurants. Vietnam has all kinds of services to satisfy the need of foreign tourists, whether for holidays, shopping, leisure, food exploration, wedding, honeymoon or for business and conference,” he said.
A total of 110,000 Indian tourists visited Vietnam in the year 2017; the number is expected to swell thanks to the increased promotional activities to being organized by both the countries.
Vietnam is also a very cost effective foreign destination for Indian tourists as the Vietnamese Dong is valued much lower than the Rupee and cheaper direct flight options between India and Vietnam are increasing.
HE invited Indian travel agents and tour operators to take advantage of geographical proximity between India and Vietnam and expand their business with Vietnam.
The road show witnessed enthusiastic participation from major tour operators, trade partners, travel consultants and members of the press. A Vietnamese delegation interacted with the local travel agents.
