Croatia’s tourism industry witnessed an impressive growth in 2019 as more than 20.7 million foregn tourists visited the country in 2019.
The 20.7 million FTA’s in 2019 marks a 5 % rise over 2018, the country also had whopping 108.6 million overnight stays in 2019. Domestoc tourists also increased by a healthy 9% over 2018.
Tourism Minister Gari Cappelli while disclosing these tourism related statistics noted that while the growth in FTA’s and domestic tourists is a good sign what is equally important is that there has been a spurt in tourism revenues and tourists spending.
Dubrovnik, Rovinj , Porec were some of the most popular tourist destinations in Croatia in 2019 while Germany, Slovenia, and Austria are the countries from where most of the foreign tourists in 2019.
Croatia has emerged as one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Mediterranean, tourism is an important component of its economy providin almost 20 percent of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
