Madhya Pradesh Tourism to sell Hotels, Rent heritage site

In view of acute cash crunch Madhya Pradesh tourism department has floated global tenders to sell 7 of its big hotels. The list of hotels also includes Bhopal’s well-known Ashoka Lake View.

The cash crunch of the tourist department is so acute that it is also planning to rent heritage sites of the state for marriage celebrations during the approaching marriage season.

This is not the first time heritage sites of MP would be leased to private players, in 2016 also the Shivraj Singh Chouhan led government gave several state-owned hotels and motels to private operators. This included properties at Katni, Datia, Neemuch, Khajuraho and Pipariya.
