Tourism at Jammu’s Patnitop is set to get a major boost as the long awaited cable car would finally be launched in the month of June. Besides the cable car Patnitop would also have zip line, tubing sledge and a magic carpet to add to its charm.
The cable car project was approved by the Patnitop Development Authority way back in 2004 but suffered from several delays.
The cable cars would include state-of-the-art Gondolas crafted to give a birds’ eye view of the scenic destination round the year. The cable car would operate at the height of 65 meters from the ground between Sanget and Patnitop providing the best sights, serenity, adventure and thrills.
Modern amenities such as food and beverage outlets, Wi-Fi access and shopping centers would be operational at the Patnitop and Sanget terminals.
Sanget which is the lower terminal of the project is easily accessible by the tourists as it is merely 3 kms from Chenani-Nashri Tunnel.
Besides its breathtaking views Patnitop is also important from the religious perspectivebeing located in the vicinity of Sudh Mahadev, Gauri Kund and Mantalai. Nathatop, Madhatop and Sanasar are well known destinations for skying and paragliding.
