The 4th edition of the annual Tura Hill Challenge’ or the ‘Tura Marathon” is scheduled to be held on November 10, 2019.
The marathon which is held at Meghalaya’s Tura town is one of the most anticipated events of the year and is gaining popularity in the Nort Eastern states of India among running enthusiasts. The marathon is held at the scenic Jengjal–Chiading-Williamnagar road (NH 44E) in a very healthy atmosphere.
The marathon will be organized by the ‘Tura Runners’ Club’ ín collaboration with the Department of Tourism, state government of Meghalaya the race would start at Jengjal – Bolbokgre and after completing a full circle would come back o the same place.
The race consists of 4 categories:
1) The 42 Kmlong marathon
2) 21 Km Half marathon
3), 10 Km adolescent health run
4) 5Km Fun run
The winners would be rewarded with attractive cash prizes
Those finishing the race will be awarded with finisher medals.
November 10 would also see the celebrations of the annual Hundred drum festival’ ‘which would be held at the West Garo Hills(WGH) of Meghalaya.
